چکیده
The coda wave decay (CWD) method was used to estimate the quality factor from amplitude rate for broadband seismic stations (IBDR, MSL, and NSR4) using a single backscattering model. This research aims calculate attenuation coefficient frequency-dependent (α) three compare them comprehend details of Earth's crust structure in those stations. Estimating Seismic Attenuation (Q) by an Analytical Signal Method
The analytical signal method for seismic attenuation (Q) estimation is reviewed and investigated using a 1D surface data model and field VSP data. The error in Q-factor recovery from modelled data using the analytical signal method is better than 7 percent over a range of Q-factors from 25 to 100. The method is applied to the enhanced downgoing P-wave of an offset VSP-survey from Ross Lake, Sas...
متن کاملRelative Seismic Attenuation Estimation
The end goal of any solid Earth study is to better constrain physical parameters of the Earth (e.g. viscosity, temperature, and mineral composition). As we are unable to directly measure many of these quantities, past a few kilometers in depth, we must content ourselves with indirect estimates by way of experiment and theory. Just as geochemists do this by way of compositional deviations from p...

Gravitational wave detectors aim to detect strain perturbations of space-time on the order of 10−21–10−22 at frequencies between 1 Hz and a few kHz. This space-time strain, integrated over kilometer scale interferometers, will induce movements of suspended mirrors on the order of 10−18–10−19 m. Seismic motion in this frequency band varies between 10−6 m and 10−12 m. Required seismic attenuation...
متن کاملVariation in Seismic Noise at Seismic Stations with Implications for Event Detection
A network of 23 analog seismic stations was established in Pakistan to monitor seismic activity. The instrumentation of seismic stations includes short period seismometers with natural period at 1 Hz. The seismic noise conditions of five seismic stations are studied to determine the detection capability in the frequency range from 1.0 Hz to 10.0 Hz regarding monitoring of local and regional sei...
